Account Deletion

1. Introduction

You have the right to delete your Dreamee account at any time. This page explains the procedure and what happens to your data when you delete your account.

Account deletion is irreversible. Make sure you have backed up any data you want to keep before proceeding.

2. Account Deletion Procedure

To delete your Dreamee account, follow these simple steps:

Steps to follow:

  1. Open the Dreamee app on your mobile device (iOS or Android)
  2. Go to the app settings (settings icon usually in the main menu or profile)
  3. Navigate to the « Account and data » section
  4. Tap the « Delete my account » button
  5. Confirm your choice by following the on-screen instructions

⚠️ Important:

  • Account deletion is final and irreversible
  • All your data will be permanently deleted
  • You will no longer have access to your dream journal, statistics or analyses
  • If you have an active Pro subscription, it will be cancelled automatically

3. Data Deleted upon Account Deletion

When you delete your account, the following data is permanently deleted from our servers:

Data deleted immediately:

  • Account data: Email, password (hashed), first name (display_name)
  • Dreams: All text content of your dreams recorded in your journal
  • Dream metadata: Dates, titles, lucidity levels, moods, notes, favourites, characteristics, symbols
  • AI analyses: All analyses generated by artificial intelligence for your dreams
  • User preferences: Interface language, notification settings, morning reminder settings
  • Saved symbols: Your personal libraries of recurring symbols (characters, places, objects, other)
  • Onboarding status: Information about your progress in the app
  • Session data: Authentication tokens and active sessions

4. Data Retained and Retention Periods

In accordance with legal and regulatory requirements, some data may be retained for specific periods:

Data retained:

4.1. Billing and Subscription Data

  • Retention period: 7 to 10 years depending on the applicable jurisdiction
  • Reason: Legal obligations to retain accounting and tax records
  • Data concerned:
    • Subscription transaction history (managed by Apple App Store and Google Play Store)
    • Pro subscription status (active/inactive, start and end dates)
    • Anonymised billing information (amounts, dates, transaction identifiers)
  • Note: This data is retained in anonymised form and cannot be used to identify you personally after account deletion

4.2. Technical Data and Logs

  • Retention period: Maximum 12 months after account deletion
  • Reason: Security, technical diagnostics, and fraud prevention
  • Data concerned:
    • Anonymised usage logs (features used, session duration)
    • Technical error logs (for diagnostics and service improvement)
    • IP addresses (anonymised after 30 days)
    • Device identifiers (anonymised)
  • Note: This data is anonymised and does not contain information that can identify you

4.3. Data Retained by Third Parties

Some of our service providers may retain data in accordance with their own policies:

  • Apple (App Store): May retain transaction data under their privacy policy
  • Google (Play Store): May retain transaction data under their privacy policy
  • Superwall: May retain anonymised subscription data for technical reasons
  • Supabase: Data deleted from our main database may be retained in backups for up to 30 days before permanent deletion

5. Data Export before Deletion

Before deleting your account, you can request a copy of your personal data. In accordance with the GDPR, you have the right to data portability.

To request an export of your data, contact us at the email address given in the « Contact » section below.

💡 Tip: We strongly recommend exporting your data before deleting your account if you want to keep a copy of your dream journal.

6. Pro Subscription Cancellation

If you have an active Pro subscription when you delete your account:

  • Your subscription will be automatically cancelled when you delete your account
  • You will no longer be charged for future periods
  • You will keep access to Pro features until the end of your current billing period
  • Refunds are handled according to Apple App Store and Google Play Store policies

Note: If you only want to cancel your subscription without deleting your account, you can do so in your device settings (App Store or Play Store) or directly in the Dreamee app.

7. Deletion Timeline

Once you have confirmed account deletion:

  • Immediate deletion: Your account and most of your personal data are deleted immediately
  • Permanent deletion: All data is permanently deleted within a maximum of 30 days
  • Backups: Data may be retained in Supabase automatic backups for up to 30 days before permanent deletion

8. Account Reactivation

Account deletion is irreversible. Once your account is deleted, you cannot reactivate it or recover your data.

If you want to use Dreamee again after deleting your account, you will need to create a new account and start from scratch.
